What is a Bible Church?
Markesan Bible Church is a non-denominational independent Christian church which emphasizes the Bible as our standard and our authority. We believe that all Scripture is inspired by God and useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right.
We believe in teaching the whole counsel of God through a verse-by-verse teaching method of a book in its entirety. By employing this method of teaching, we learn the whole counsel of God and what the Lord is teaching us by keeping His Word in context. At the same time, we use other Scriptures in our Bible to back up or confirm the accuracy of what we teach. Because we believe in grace and truth, we can then apply these truths to our lives through the grace God gives us.
We don’t believe in passing an offering plate, instead, we have an offering box at the back of the church from which you may worship God with your finances. We believe that your giving is between you and the Lord. We trust God to provide for the church and the many missionaries we support around the world through the faithfulness of His people.

Our government is a congregational church that has quarterly meetings to decide issues or make decisions recommended by the Elder Board who are nominated and elected by the congregation. Not all Bible churches are exactly the same. Each Bible church is locally governed, in accordance with Acts 15, with mandated officers who serve the church so that no one person or denomination can lord it over the church.
